Ika - The World of Writing

Writing is one of important skill that we should have. Because we can pour our ideas in writing. To be a good wtiter, it is not difficult. We also should have good knowledge of grammar. If we have mistake in grammar, then we can not deliver our ideas well. There many kinds of paragraph in writing, they are:
1. Causal Paragraph
2. Opinion Paragraph
3. Discussion Paragraph
4. Explanation Paragraph
5. Evaluation Paragraph, etc.

This time, I would share my knowledge about Causal Paragraph. Causal Paragraph is a paragraph that explain or write about cause or effect of something. In this paragraph, the writer should provide the logical relationship of cause and effect. There some parts of causal paragraph, they are:

1. Topic Sentence
It includes topic and controlling idea. For example, the topic is junk food and the controlling idea is the effects. So, the topic sentence is ‘the effects of junk food’.
2. Supporting Sentence
Supporting Sentence explains about the cause or effect of something and in each supporting sentence there are some supporting details. Supporting detail is sentence that contained in supporting sentence.
3. Concluding Sentence
This part is restatement of the topic.

Example of Causal Paragraph with the topic “Junk Food”:
Junk food is easily and fastly food to be served, but it also has some effects to our life. One of the effects of junk food is it contains unhealthy ingredients. Usually, junk food uses dangerous ingredients such as sweetener, color and durable materials. It also uses unfresh vegetables and meats as a complement of food, because people prefer to save them in refrigerator, so the vitamins is lost. Junk food is completed by chemical ingredients too, for example borax, monosodium glutamate and so on. Another terrible effects of junk food is it endangers the body’s health. Consuming junk food so much can make our body becomes overweight. Because it contains bad fat that can’t be absorbed by the body and it appears some illness like cancer, tumor, and trouble in absorbtion. The last effects of junk food is changing lifestyle. People that always consuming junk food is more wasteful than people who cook their food by themselves. So, it influences them to be lazy in cooking or making food by themselves. Usually, people that often consume junk food will prefer to love junk food than traditional food which is more healthy and more guarantee the quality. In conclusion, although junk food is easily and fastly food to be served, but it has some effects that can lose out our life.
